Dental Care During COVID-19

Based on recommendations by the Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization, Wooddell and Passaro have temporarily closed to all nonessential treatment. Many patients depend on us for the continued health of their teeth, and we understand that our closure may be unsettling, especially for patients who were due for a routine checkup. Luckily, we are not gone entirely, or forever; when the pandemic has passed, we will reopen for regular treatment, and in the meantime, we are available to address your dental emergencies.

Caring for Your Teeth Between Appointments

Even in unusual circumstances, the basics of good dental care don’t change. Brush your teeth at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and a soft-bristled toothbrush, floss, and use a fluoride rinse. Following these simple recommendations can do wonders for reducing tooth damage and decay. If social distancing has you stuck at home, try devoting some extra time to your teeth: brush after every meal, not just twice a day, and be extra careful when you floss. Don’t give in to the temptation to snack on junk food; try tooth-healthy celery or cheese instead.

Come to Us with Your Emergencies

Even with the best care in the world, dental emergencies can happen. Increased pain, changes in sensitivity, facial trauma, a cracked or broken tooth, and damaged appliances including dental crowns and implants are all good examples of dental emergencies. If you find yourself suffering from a dental emergency, we are still open for urgent appointments from existing patients.
