A Natural Solution

Dental Implants

Cosmetic Procedures Perhaps no single development in dentistry has made such a profound change in the options we have for dental treatment as dental implants. Dental implants are tooth root replacements upon which we build crowns, bridges or anchor dentures in either permanent or removable techniques. They are made from titanium, a strong and light weight metal that has been used successfully for over 30 years. No longer do we have to rely on just the remaining teeth to hold bridgework that replaces missing teeth.

Begin with the End in Mind
Whether it is a single, several, or an entire arch of missing teeth, the key to success in implant dentistry is proper planning. It must be determined in advance what the desired esthetic and functional outcome should be. Without a plan, it is easy to place an implant in the wrong position. This can yield a very unaesthetic result that is difficult to correct and can ultimately fail.

At Wooddell and Passaro Dental Group, our strength is in comprehensive diagnostics and treatment planning for implant dentistry. We use the most modern CT scanning, computer software to create our plans for implant placement. We use CAD/CAM techniques in combination with precise prosthetics to produce beautiful results that duplicate the natural teeth that have been lost.

Computer Guided Implant Placement
In the 20 years we have been coordinating and restoring implants, the challenge has always been predicting the amount of bone available for the implant. Now, with the development of Cone Beam CT technology for Dentistry, we can take a CT scan of the jaw in just 19 seconds in our office. From that scan we can create a 3D image that is dimensionally accurate. We place implants from the software into the image, check their placement, and have surgical guides made that puts the implant exactly where we planned!
